Mobile Surgery

So what exactly is "mobile surgery?”

The Spire team—which includes Dr. McAbee and a dedicated surgery technician—travels to veterinary practices to perform specialized or complicated surgeries that require advanced surgical training. We bring our own surgical supplies, instruments, implants, and all necessary equipment for surgery. The veterinary practice provides an anesthesia technician as well as the operating room, and generally oversees postoperative care following surgery. The team travels to between one and three hospitals on a typical day.

Dr. McAbee is available for consultations in the clinic, over the phone, or via e-mail prior to surgery and welcomes communication with veterinarians as well as owners following surgery.  In order to provide the absolute best care for his clients and the animals he treats, he gives out his personal cell phone number and is happy to answer questions.

Dr. McAbee also has partnerships with select clinics in Denver and Fort Collins where he sees clients who want to schedule surgical consults or procedures with him. These practices are equipped to perform arthroscopy and other minimally invasive procedures. Please contact us for details.
